Sina Movahed claimed the top prize in Freestyle Friday on October 16, securing sole first place with nine points after an impressive seven-point start. Haowen Xue finished in second with 8.5 points, while Ian Nepomniachtchi took third. The victory marks Movahed's sixth Freestyle Friday win, tying him for the second-most all time, though it comes as his first triumph since January and his first in the Freestyle Friday Championship since that competition began in February.

The tournament featured a strong field of elite players. Magnus Carlsen participated but suffered an early setback, recovering to finish with three points alongside nineteen others. After five rounds, five players occupied the lead at that score, though only Movahed managed to reach five wins without a loss. He then extended his unbeaten run to six victories before finally drawing with Faustino Oro in round eight.

Movahed's path to the title involved navigating a competitive final rounds. He faced Pouya Idani midway through the tournament with first place on the line and emerged with the win. In round ten, Movahed defeated Nodirbek Yakubboev with the black pieces to maintain his lead. Entering the final round, Oro, Idani, Nepomniachtchi, Quoc Hy Nguyen, and Yakubboev all trailed by a full point.

The championship points system also affected the final standings. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, who streamed his tournament for Freestyle Chess, finished ninth overall and earned a point in the Freestyle Friday Championship standings. A notable moment came when Vachier-Lagrave's opponent, Nodirbek Yakubboev, successfully demonstrated the bishop and knight mate.

Felix Ilinca earned the fourth-place prize through a strong finish, winning his final three games against Anna Muzychuk, Oleksii Nakonechnyi, and Christopher Yoo. The women's prize went to Polina Shuvalova rather than Muzychuk. Movahed collected four hundred dollars for the victory, with Xue earning two hundred fifty and Nepomniachtchi receiving one hundred fifty.
