The International Chess Federation has announced organisational changes that include expanding its system of presidential representatives and advisers. These additions aim to reinforce the political and institutional role of the President's team while supporting FIDE's international interests and maintaining connections with the global chess community.

Håkan Jalling, President of the Nordic Chess Federation and former leader of the Swedish Chess Federation, will serve as Representative of the President for Olympic Games Inclusion. His appointment reflects his substantial work in advancing chess's position within the Olympic movement, including securing recognition from the Swedish Olympic Committee. Jalling chairs the European Chess Union's Chess Olympic Affairs Commission and will leverage Sweden's experience to promote Olympic inclusion while facilitating dialogue between national chess federations and their respective Olympic committees.

Darcy Lima, a Brazilian Grandmaster and former President of the Brazilian Chess Federation, takes on the role of Representative of the President for Institutional Dialogue. His extensive background in international chess positions him to strengthen institutional cooperation within the global chess community. Lima will work to facilitate collaboration among federations and encourage the sharing of experience and best practices across FIDE's network.

Alexander Martynov has been appointed Senior Advisor to the President. In this capacity, Martynov will provide strategic and organisational counsel to the FIDE President while supporting priority initiatives and contributing to the development of the federation's long-term planning.

These appointments are part of a broader effort to establish the system of presidential representatives as a key channel for political dialogue and institutional cooperation. Working in coordination with each other and with previously announced representatives, the three new members will strengthen FIDE's engagement with chess organisations and the international sports movement.
