Javokhir Sindarov returned to the Cap St Georges Hotel and Resort in Cyprus last October to finalize his preparation for the FIDE World Championship 2026. The hotel administration named a suite after him to commemorate his triumph at the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2026. Sindarov occupied this dedicated room from October 5 through October 21 during his final training phase.

Sindarov had won the Candidates Tournament decisively at the same resort months earlier, finishing a full round ahead of his competitors with a record score of 10 out of 14 points. This performance marked a historic achievement in the modern Candidates Tournament format. The victory earned him the right to challenge the defending World Champion.

The World Championship match between Sindarov and defending Champion Gukesh Dommaraju takes place in Geneva, Switzerland from late November through mid-December. During Sindarov's October stay in Cyprus, fellow competitors Hikaru Nakamura and Bibisara Assaubayeva were also at the hotel. Nakamura later clarified that he was not involved in Sindarov's preparation efforts.
