Magnus Carlsen organized a training camp in Spain that brought together several chess figures for intensive preparation. Nodirbek Abdusattorov joined Carlsen along with Peter Heine Nielsen and David Howell. The group engaged in practical play, with Carlsen, Abdusattorov, and Howell competing against one another while Nielsen provided analysis from a laptop.

The gathering marked the first time Carlsen and Abdusattorov trained together in this setting. Both grandmasters are set to compete in the Total Chess World Championship Tour Pilot, which runs from November 10 to 21 at the Anantara New York Palace Hotel in Budapest, Hungary. The camp appears designed to sharpen their preparation ahead of the event.

Carlsen documented the training session through Instagram posts and video content. Among those present was Carlsen's one-year-old son Marcus, who spent time at the desk alongside the grandmasters during their work.
