FIDE and the Egyptian Chess Federation have pushed back the registration window for the World U7-U17 Rapid and Blitz Championships. The event will unfold in Cairo during December, with players arriving on the eighth and departing on the fifteenth. The extended deadline now falls on November 10.

Young competitors will participate across six age divisions, each offering Open and Girls sections. The championships welcome players from all FIDE Member Federations, with no limit on how many athletes or officials each federation may enter. Players who won their respective age categories at the previous edition qualify automatically for the corresponding or higher age group, provided they satisfy the age requirements as of January 1, 2026.
