Lichess has ended its boycott of US Chess, announcing that it will restore official broadcasts of federation events and resume broader support for chess organizations. The platform cited satisfaction with reforms undertaken by the federation in response to past concerns.

US Chess overhauled its operations following the suspension. Leadership figures connected to the mishandling of historical allegations no longer hold such positions. The federation also introduced new policies across the organization and improved internal communication channels.

Lichess imposed the boycott in 2023 alongside the Saint Louis Chess Club, protesting what the platform viewed as inadequate accountability for mishandling sexual misconduct allegations. The Saint Louis Chess Club returned to cooperation with Lichess in 2025. US Chess subsequently resolved a related dispute in March 2026, clearing the path for full reconciliation.
