Javokhir Sindarov expressed disappointment with his performance on the second day of the Clutch Chess: Champions Showdown 2026, held at the Saint Louis Chess Club in Missouri. The world's fourth-ranked player was particularly critical of his effort against Fabiano Caruana, describing his play with the Black pieces as among his worst efforts.

Sindarov did not mince words when reflecting on his loss to Caruana. He stated that while some of his games that day were acceptable, the contest against Caruana represented poor chess on his part. He noted that other matches went reasonably well by comparison.

The tournament runs through October 29 at the Saint Louis Chess Club. Sindarov also fell to Praggnanandhaa R on the second day, leaving him in second place with 8.5 points after the day's competitions.
